Latest RALF Updates
SPD adds to the RALF Question and Answer Document
Several new questions were added to the SPD Question and Answer Document. The new Document is posted below. There are now three sections, the original set of 39 questions, Questions from 12/19 and Questions from 1/24/08. Please review carefully and READ all sections as answers in new sections further clarify answers in earlier sections of the document. OHCA is attempting to categorize the questions by topic/OAR and put in chronological order to bring further clarity to these frequently asked questions/topics.

Focus Question Compliance Tip of the Month:
Q. 51. Do residents who have moved in on or after January 1 need to have the evaluation elements and meet new timelines for service planning development and review?
A. Residents who move in on or after January 1, 2008 must have a full evaluation and the facility must meet all timelines in the new rules. Residents living in the facility prior to January 1 must have the evaluation elements completed at their next quarterly update.

New Survey Process Forms Now Available
A newly revised Survey Entrance Checklist has been issued by Seniors and People with Disabilities. There are several new items that will be requested in addition to previously requested forms. This information can be found on the OHCA website under RALF Rules Information and Resources. Please review carefully, a number of the survey entrance forms have been revised and several new ones have been added. An index of the forms will be added to the website indicating which forms have been revised and which ones are new.

SPD Releases Final Uniform Disclosure Statement
The new Uniform Disclosure Statement is complete. Facilities should complete the new disclosure statement and offer it to prospective residents who request it. Click here for 2/08 PDF and Word Versions.

SPD Posts More Administrator Alerts
Several new Senior and People with Disabilities Administrator Alerts have been posted on their website dated 1/23/08. OHCA and SPD encourage all providers to register for Administrator Alerts. The following link will bring you to the registration site www.oregon.gov/DHS/spd/provtools/newsletters.shtml#aa. SPD will no longer be sending these out via regular mail to providers.
