The OHCA 40-hour Administrator Training Program offers a unique opportunity to learn about best practices from a variety of respected consultants and community-based care professionals. This training program is designed to balance information, resource materials, and interactive exercises. This course will prepare you to develop services and procedures that reflect community-based care values and comply with licensing rules. Attendees will discuss emerging issues that impact services and how to comply with regulatory intent. Managers who attend this training will gain insight necessary to guide corporate policy development and undertake local community oversight.

Licensure Process

Once you complete the course, you will receive a certificate of completion. This is NOT a license. Licensure is coordinated through the Oregon Health Authority/Health Licensing Office. You must:

  • Submit an application and application fee ($100) to the Oregon Health Licensing Office.
    • Include all the items listed on page 4 of the application or your application will be returned to you as incomplete.
  • Schedule and pass the licensure exam and pay the exam fee ($125).
  • Pay license fee to get your license from the Oregon Health Licensing Office ($130)

General Course Information

This course meets the training requirements of OAR 853-035-0000. To complete the virtual 40-hour administrator training course, attendees must complete the following items:

  1. Attend all live virtual instruction days. Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. ( approx. 27.5 hours)
  2. Online learning modules through Oregon Care Partners (approx. 9.5 hours)
  3. Study guide (approx. 3 hours) due before Friday’s class
